Before you buy

Use drywipe markers only. A permanent marker on a drywipe board is recoverable: scribble over it with a drywipe marker and wipe both off while wet. Leaving normal drywipe ink on the board for weeks is what causes ghosting on the cheaper surfaces, and a weekly clean with the proper fluid rather than a wet cloth is what keeps a board white. Cheap markers are the commonest cause of a ruined board: the ink is designed to stay put rather than wipe off, and on melamine it will not come back.
